FirstNLR Live Dead Challenge

The Live Dead Challenge is a 30 Day Discipleship journey.  Together with hundreds of others at FirstNLR, we will study sacrifice and brokenness while praying for the 40% of the world who do not have access to the Gospel.

HOW TO PRAY FOR UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS

1. PRAY THAT THE WORD OF GOD WOULD RISE.

There is no substitute for the Word of God. Pray for the Bible to be translated into their language. Pray for the “Jesus” film to be made available in their language. Pray for the dissemination of the Word in printed, audio, and video formats. Pray that every member of that people group would be exposed to Scripture.

2. PRAY THAT THE LORD OF THE HARVEST WOULD SEND FORTH LABORERS INTO THE HARVEST FIELD.

The entire Live Dead strategy is based on teams living and dying among God’s precious lost ones. Pray that Jesus would send missionaries from your church to the people group; pray for multinational teams to be formed; pray for near-culture neighbors to be gripped with the lostness of the people next to them.

3. PRAY THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT, WILL BE POURED OUT ON ALL FLESH.

This promise is also for “…all those who are far off.” Pray that various members of the unreached people group will be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Pray for men and women, young and old, poor and rich, marginalized and influential. Pray for a mighty filling of the Holy Spirit for those who come to Christ, that they might have power and passion to reach others in their tribe, and to attack evil wherever they find it.

4. PRAY THAT THE CROSS WILL BE UNVEILED.

Many of the people groups you will be praying for are Muslim. Muslims especially, but all peoples, have been blinded by the devil. They misunderstand or reject the atoning work of Christ on the cross. Pray that their eyes will be opened to the blessed irrationality of a God becoming mad, and then dying a shameful death for our redemption.

5. PRAY THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT WOULD UNITE THE BODY OF CHRIST.

None of us lives of works in a vacuum. Pray for the first believers in the people group. Pray that there would be loving, trusting communion between them. Pray against jealousies and the lies of the devil. Pray for the missionaries working among those people. Pray for unity, blessing, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Division among new believers and missionary colleagues is a primary tool of the devil. Pray for God’s blessed unity to prevail.

6. PRAY FOR MEN AND WOMEN OF PEACE.

Often a key person opens the way for a whole people to receive Christ. Sometimes this person of peace accepts the Lord and leads others to Christ; at other times this person grants permission for ministry in a certain area even if he does not convert himself. Pray that men and women of influence would come to Jesus from each people group and lead their people to faith in Christ. Pray for the emergence of house churches that reproduce, and elders that rise up to lead the new movement.
