Couldn't help thinking about this as I prayed for Somali believers today.
Special prayer update - for sensitivity reasons, we can't post the names of the author of today's journal entry. You will remember that they were here with us in January of this year. The couple with kids working with Somalis.
The husband's father also a worker in India for many years, died this last week. it was a difficult struggle for the family. Please pray for this family.
The author's words are powerful
Respond to that statement - how hard is it to obey and pay the price? Do you feel like God is taking you to that place of commitment?

I don't know if I am the only one but on my commenting here...I am finding that pretty much the only thing worthwhile that I can say is a simple prayer. The entry for today was one that moved me when I heard her speak it at church...reading her words today continued to touch my very soul. All die...Lord, help me to grasp how someone can even go and serve with the understanding that death is near and yet, with confidence go. I ask for You to help me understand.
Terri I often think of our friend who spoke those words that day - powerful stuff.
her words are some of the most powerful I have ever read. I pray for faith and trust like that - and the ability to communicate that faith and trust so powerfully.
I too remember those words she spoke at church that day: All die.
As I sat there and heard her say that, tears filled my eyes as I thought to my self.
If we could hear what Jesus might be saying at that moment, it might be what he said to the centurion
who came and asked Jesus to heal his servant. " Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith...".
Matthew 8:8 KJV
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Father God I pray to have that unwavering faith in You, in Your Word, in Your power, knowing that all you have to do is speak the word only. As I pray Father God and call on the name of Jesus Christ, that power is in your name and my faith in you will unleash that power to strengthen me to go where ever you send me, to do what ever You call me to do, to heal, to comfort to bring the lost to the salvation of Jesus Christ, in Jesus name I pray. A-men
It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that to be judged. When my time comes, I don't want the Judge to say, "Why did you play it safe? Why did you not trust me? Why didn't you launch out in faith into what I wanted to do through your life? I promised never to leave you. Not a sparrow falls to the ground without My noticing it. Do you really think I would not know what you face, and not be there with you in the middle of it?
If we live, we live for Christ. If we die, we will be with Christ. Let us live without fear, knowing that He controls our destiny. Because living with fear isn't really living. It's barely even existing.
