We prayed for Rashida people earlier this week. We received a message from the team leaders for that team.
Hi there, my name is Helen* and my fiance Tim* and I are getting married this weekend! We are the team leaders for the live dead Rashaida team in eastern Sudan. Please pray for protection of our current strong relationship with our people group. Please pray for Rashaida to be awakened to the light of Jesus!
Would you please go into the comments section and post a message/prayer for our team leaders? I'll collect all of them and send to them as our "prayer" wedding gift.
Today's people group is the Shagiyya group, here is a little about them:
In the rural areas of the various subtribes extended family life
features strongly. Its quite common that one will stay in one house
(mom, dad, grandfather, grandmother, children aunts, uncles,
cousin). Most families in the Shaigiya tribe have extended families. Some
men have more than one wife. The person that is in charge of the house
is the father. If the father is not in the home then the mother takes
over. If the mother has trouble or isn’t strong enough then the uncle
takes over. The uncle is usually the father’s brother and has to act
like the father. If the uncle can’t then the grand father will take
over. The grandfather they will also end up being the fathers’ father
too.
Let's pray that these people will come to experience the power of Jesus Christ!

Today we are challenged to make a vow of silence and not speak unless necessary... Hard isn't it? Not really as long as you realize that in being silent you can learn a lot about God and about others around you.
Although I work today at Camp Aldersgate, I plan to listen more to people there, especially the Seniors. I believe I can learn a lot today from them that I did not already know and I pray for open ears to hear them more than ever before.
Maybe we can all learn from others in us just listening instead of talking back with them?
Father, I lift up a prayer for Helen and Tim. Lord, equip them with your armor as they lead the Rashaida people. I pray that as they unite together in marriage that they draw strength from each other and from You,as they live and lead this team. I pray that their faith be multiplied and grow daily as You guide their lives.Help them to trust you at all times. Give them the confidence of knowing that everything will work together for good. Keep them strong, steadfast, immovable. I pray that Helen and Tim take the shield if faith and fight all evil lurking around them. I pray that they continue to be led by the Holy Spirit and NEVER walk in doubt ir fear.Help them submit to You their desires and dreams. Jeremiah 29:11 "I know the thoughts I have for you says the Lord, thoughts of Peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Heavenly Father we worship you for all your wonderful and amazing attributes. We are greatful for your love for all people everywhere; that Jesus Christ died for everyone so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. This gift is for the Rashaida people and we know you have not forgotten about them. Help us to not forget-- there are Toyotas everwhere!
Continue to help the Rashaida team to have strong relationships with the people. We join with Jesus in intercession for the Rashaida people. The enemy would like nothing more than to blow up the bridges of relationship that the team has with the people group. Guard those bridges. Give the team wisdom on how to have victory in the mission. Help the team to have unity.
Unveil the message of the cross to those are blinded to it. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. May people be drawn to that light and see it as a beacon of love and salvation.
Dear Lord, I lift Helen and Tim up in prayer. I pray for their safety in Sundan and for the strong relationships they have built with the Rashaida people and that they will continue to grow stronger.
Please surround your shield of protection around them that they may continue to spread the light of Jesus with them.
Lord, I willingly engage in the vow of silence today as I listen more intently to those around me but more importantly, to You. As I mow the yard, clean the house, and prepare for upcoming classes, I seek You. And Lord, please help me remember and use Paul's guidelines for edifying family members, friends, and co-workers.
I ask that today the Shagiyya students will hear and see that You alone are the One True God. And in their hearing and seeing, take what they know back to their family groups and share the Message. Protect those that share the Word and model Your love to the people groups in the Sudan.
Our Father in heaven I lift up Tim and Helen to you in prayer as they take the vow of marriage to serve you as a husband and wife team. I pray Lord God for your direction, your protection and your strength be upon them as they take this journey for life .I pray Lord God that you equip Tim with the strength, the wisdom and the knowledge to be that Godly husband and father to lead his family according to your Word. I pray Father God that you equip Helen with that same strength, wisdom and knowledge to be that submissive wife, that helper to her husband that you have commanded all wives to be. Let them be bound to each other according to your Word, I pray Father God that you will bind them together in your love. Keep them safe from all harm and evil as you enlarge their territory and covering them with your protection so that no weapon formed against them will prosper. Thank you Father God for all that you do for us, we love you and we give you all the honor and all the praise.
Lord God I pray for the Rashaida people, I pray Lord God that as team Tim and Helen, your servants go out to share your Word with the Rashaida people , I pray Father God that you will open their ears to hear, I pray Father God that you will touch their heart with compassion so they may receive your Word of salvation. I pray Lord God that all may receive the salvation of Christ Jesus .I thank you Lord God for your love, for your protection and for your salvation, In Jesus Christ name I pray,A -men

Yes, it was Mike! As I mowed, I was praying for the Shagiyya people even though I was hoping I didn't see a snake! Thank goodness, I didn't! :)
Wow, I'm SO guilty of not speaking in integrity, but my prayer is that from this point on I'll be more aware of what I say as well as speaking more favorable of someone I'm offended by/with. Father, help me to be more focused on You than anything/anyone else. I repent & I choose you. Thank you Jesus, In Your Name AMEN!!!
Being a quiet and shy person I don’t talk a lot anyway, but I pray Father God that when I do speak that you will touch my heart with compassion and control my tongue that I will only speak those words that are encouraging and uplifting. Lord God let my words be encouraging to others and not discouraging, let my words be positive and not negative, let my words be helpful and not hurtful. Thank you Father God for being in control, I love you Lord God and I give you all the honor and all the praise. In Christ Jesus name I pray, A-men
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I bring Helen and Tim along with the entire Live Dead Rashaida team to You. I ask You to send the ministering angels to stand guard over every member of this team that nothing shall by any means harm them. I ask You to continue to give them supernatural favor with the Rashaida people. I ask You to continue to open doors for ministry among these people. I pray that as every member of this team interacts with this people group that the Rashaida would see Your love in each member of the team. I pray that the light of Jesus in the team members would penetrate the darkness in the hearts of the Rashaida and that the scales on their spiritual eyes would fall off and that they would understand that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to You Father except through Jesus. I pray that the anointing of the Holy Spirit would destroy, obliterate every demonic stronghold in the lives of the Rashaida and that these people would be set free once and for all and would humble themselves and receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. I thank You in advance for a mighty harvest of souls among these people. I pray that everyone of them would get saved. I thank You that with You God ALL things are possible! I pray these things in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.
